can buy our approval and general happiness."--- Tlepolemus, today, on the amount it cost my mother to buy us some food on the way home to tide us until we could make lunch. :-)
Well, I had horseback riding lessons for the first time ever Thursday. Lots of fun. I'm learning English saddle (So I can go on fox hunts in the UK, my dad says ;-) Just for fun really, though.), and it's really nice to be able to keep my feet in the stirrups. :-)
And then there was the booksale. Fun! A few old Hardy Boys and Nancy Drews, some Agatha Christies, and Lord Peter Wimseys. Oh, and The Moonstone. :-D
School is going alright now, but let's not talk about that. ;-)
I'd love to hear how you all are doing though! :-)

9/11
Well, it's been 6 years since the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington D.C. I still remember first hearing the news. I think you all have heard it already, but I'll tell it again.
Sister1, Sister2, and I had been out dogtraining with my dad. We'd come back up and the UPS had delivered a box of bumpers and such. We were going through and all of a sudden my mom came out and said that an airplane had crashed into a tower. Sister1 and I thought they were talking about an air traffic control tower, so we thought it was sad, but didn't see what the big deal was. They all thought that it might have been an accident, so my mom went back in and my dad stayed out for a second. I'm a little fuzzy on whether my mom came back out or whether we all went in, but she told us that a second plane had crashed into the second tower. Then, my parents were getting worried or concerned or something, and all us girls were upset and such, because we knew something bad had happened, even if we didn't completely understand. My mom let us off easy on school---we only had to do art, and she put us in the schoolroom listening to music. We (being the girls) were worried that a plane would crash here, but were assured that we were too small to be much of a target and that even if something nearby was hit, we'd be fine in the house. :-)
That's about all that I can remember, except for being worried for the next several days. And then of course, there was anxiety the next time we flew, but that's another story.
