Leap Day!

Traditionally, women can propose marriage to men on this day.

Interesting, no?

The Wikipedia article can be found here. The part of interest is near the bottom. Make sure to see the postcards, too!

Happy Leap Day!

Quotes Mostly

Well, I'm not sure how well I like Donna, but I'm coming around to it. We'll just have to how it goes, but the idea of just a friend again has a lot going for it, in my opinion. :-) And as for Rose and Martha, a lot of it was the boyfriend thing---Rose would pick them up like flies, at least for a while, and she was sometimes a bit of a ditz---Martha didn't have boyfriends and she was pretty steady, if not quite as...I don't what exactly to put here. :-D A line from the last episode of season three comes to mind, but I'd hate to spoil it. :-)

Anyhow, I wanted to put up a few Doctor Who quotes from a Fifth Doctor story (Warriors of the Deep).

Tegan: "You're alive!"

Turlough: "Alive, well, and trying to escape."

Tegan being brought in to join the other prisoners interrupted Turlough's attempts to escape through an air vent. :-)

Turlough: "Why is it that you earth people always seem to think that a futile gesture is an honourable one?"

Turlough, quite obviously then, is an alien.

Picture of everybody is here. Left is the Doctor, center is Tegan, and right is Turlough.

And then on Chain Reaction, David Tennant (Doctor Who) was interviewing Richard Wilson (Dr. Constantine in The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances).
David Tennant: And, because you had the temerity to appear on Doctor Who before me, they made an action figure of you! *shows it to Richard Wilson* A 5-inch plastic you! And the best part is that you can pull the head off *laughter from audience* and it comes with two heads...you put this one on and you're a gas mask zombie! *cheers and laughs from the audience*

Richard Wilson: Oh my. *David Tennant gives it to him* Thank you. Now I'll just play with me.

:-) Or something along those lines. It was pretty funny. :-D

And now I realize that you will probably read this and then wonder why on earth any of that was considered funny by me. Sorry... :-D

After a very long time away...

I'm repenting, I'm repenting!!

:-)

Anyhow...

Life on this side of the Atlantic is rather uneventful so far. We haven't even really gotten any rain since we arrived!!!!

However, we ARE going toboganning this evening with the CY, so that WILL be interesting to say the least. :-)

It feels weird---I've already done my schooling for the day. Despite the coursework, I think I may have more time on my hands. Yay!!

My mom has been enjoying the radio programmes over here. The book of the week this week is called Trust Me, I'm a (Junior) Doctor. It's rather enjoyable; during his time at the hospital training the author kept a journal and so the book is accounts from his time there. Tomorrow night, though, there is something else of strong interest to us: Catherine Tate interviewing David Tennnant. :-D Sounds fun. Information here.

Well, whether we're able to see it here or not, Doctor Who Series Four looks interesting. Ood, Sontarans, Agatha Christie, Pompei, and the return of Rose! :-)
